Introduction

Jet into Antarctica to join Ben Saunders – the Polar Explorer – for four exhilarating days of South Pole Trip as he teaches you the basic skills you need to be polar explorer. Ben has covered more than 7,000 kilometers (nearly 4350 miles) of Arctic and Antarctic terrain over the last 20 years and will teach you how to pack your sled, drive a 6×6 Arctic truck over glaciers and rocks, scale a wall of sheer ice and traverse a glacier using crampons and an ice axe. The experience culminates as you test out your new skills while camping on a glacier for the evening. In between learning what it takes to survive in extreme conditions, enjoy the warmth and comfort of the only luxury accommodation in Antarctica with eco-friendly, fully insulated, cutting edge sleeping pods, gourmet cuisine and the finest wines.

When to Visit

While winters are harsh and inhospitable our Antarctic expeditions take place in the milder summer months from November to March when temperatures reach up to a pleasant 15ºC (59ºF). With 24-hour sunlight, the long summer days grant plenty of time to explore the scenic wonderland.
